Shiatsu is a Japanese form of therapeutic bodywork based on traditional Chinese medicine principles. The word "shiatsu" means "finger pressure," and the technique involves applying rhythmic pressure using the thumbs, fingers, palms, and sometimes elbows or knees along specific energy pathways in the body, known as meridians.
